Kendal Station

The Lakes Line CRP has recently commissioned a pedestrian survey of Kendal Station. Led by Paul Holdsworth of South Lakes Development Trust, the survey has highlighted difficulties for pedestrians using the main walking route to Kendal Station including insufficient signage to the station and difficult crossing points. You can download the results of the Kendal Railway Station Survey here (4.4MB, PDF).

Real Ale Trail Leaflet

In conjunction with CAMRA (the campaign for real ale) and TransPennine the Lakes Line CRP have recently published a real ale trail. Nine pubs along the line have been included in the leaflet, some of which are offering a discount on the presentation of a valid train ticket. The leaflet is available for download on this site.

Photograph Competition

Last year the Lakes Line held a photographic competition. The only stipulation was that photographs had to be taken in Oxenholme, Burneside, Kendal, Staveley or Windermere. We were lucky enough to be able to offer as first prize a digital masterclass with landscape photographer Jon Allison. Jon's pictures can be seen on www.lakedistrictlandscapes.co.uk.

The winner was Helen Reynolds with her photograph of Oxenholme Station in the snow. Helen recently spent a day in the Kentmere Valley with Jon taking photographs, the results of which will soon be on this website.
