Signage Issues

The Lakes Line CRP has been working to address some of the issues raised in last year's pedestrian survey which looked at access to Kendal Station. A difficulty in finding the station from the town was highlighted alongside issues such as problems associated with pedestrians and cars sharing the station entrance ramp. First TransPennine, supported by Cumbria County Council, has undertaken various works at the station including installing a new station sign, improving the ramp and installing signs to make the ramp safer for pedestrians.

With a DCRDF grant funded by Department for Transport, Network Rail and Association for Community Rail Partnerships, alongside funding from Cumbria County Council, the Lakes Line CRP have also been able to work with South Lakes District Council on its project to improve signage and information around Kendal. New information/orientation boards will be located around the town as well as additional finger posts making it easier for pedestrians to locate the station.
